You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

Baby Bunnies

Hello! Happy Tuesday. I wanted to share these adorable pictures with you. My mother-in-law found a nest in her garden and you'll never believe what was in it... baby bunnies! I have never seen a baby bunny before its eyes have opened and they are so tiny and sweet. We have yet to see the mother, but she must be around because they seem healthy. What little cuties they are!

Scott and I head to Pittsburgh tomorrow for several appointments. I see the Diabetes doctor tomorrow, my ENT and transplant doctors on Thursday, and have a bronchoscopy on Friday. Hopefully all will go well. Please keep us in your prayers as we travel. Thank you! Nancy

Fun at the Allegany County Fair

Hello friends! Yesterday Hannah performed at the Allegany County Fair. We had a lot of fun. Leslie, Jeff, Lydia, and Simon came with Hannah and me. It has been a long time since I have been to a fair. It was fun to see all the 4H displays and animals, though I would like to purchase all of them to save them from being eaten.

We rode on several rides and Lydia and Simon even braved the Haunted House. Lydia rode with Hannah and was in tears when they emerged. Simon rode with me and spent much of the time almost in my lap. I don't think they will choose to go on that ride again soon.

Hannah and the Olean Area Irish Dancers performed and did a great job. Here are some videos for you to enjoy. Pause the music player before watching the videos.

Hannah is on the far right in this video.

Hannah went to Darien Lake (an amusement park just out of Buffalo) with a friend today, so I get to recover from yesterday. I am having the best summer and I keep thanking God for all that He has blessed me with!!!!!

All my love! Nancy

We had the BEST time in Ocean City! I haven't done so much in several years. We went non-stop. We swam and boogie boarded in the Ocean, we walked and biked on the Boardwalk, we shopped, went to an awesome water park, rode amusement park rides, miniature golfed twice, visited Assateague Island where we saw several wild ponies, saw dolphins, watched a surfing competition, and ate a lot of great food. The best part was that I was able to do all of it! I didn't slow my family down once, it was amazing! I am SO BLESSED!!!!

I slept most of the way home in the car and much of the day yesterday, but it is a good exhaustion that I am feeling, a very fulfilled exhaustion!

I hope you enjoy the slide show and short videos of our trip! All my love! Nancy

Live webcam

If you would like to check out where we are, there is a live webcam just outside our hotel that can be viewed at http://www.kiteloft.com/beach_webcam.asp .

To Ocean City Tomorrow!

Scott ordered a great new pool toy for Hannah. It is a UFO (sometimes she does act a little like an alien : ) ). She has had a lot of fun playing and floating around in it.

Our vacation starts tomorrow and I am so excited, it has been 3 years since we were able to take a vacation! I wasn't sure if I would ever see the ocean again, let alone feel well enough to walk on the beach, swim, and boogie board. This will be a very special vacation, a celebration of the new life I have been given! I'll be sure to post pictures when we return.
My love to you all! Nancy

4th of July Weekend

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We had a lot of fun!

Friday we went to a 4th of July party at a Country Club in Bradford, PA. Our friends, the Marshalls, invited us and though it rained a lot of the time, we had a great time. There was a lovely buffet, great music by Mick's band, Hannah enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, and there was an amazing fireworks display.

On Saturday we packed up the camper and headed to Allegany, NY to camp with our friends the Ruffners and their family. It was cool, but dry, and we had a fun and relaxing evening. We got home mid afternoon yesterday and I crashed, taking a 4 hour nap!

Today Hannah has started an acting class at our local community college. That will end Thursday, then Saturday we head to Ocean City. I can't believe it is almost here, I am so excited!

I hope you all have a wonderful week! Love you! Nancy

Some Misc. Photos

I wanted to share a few photos with you:

I have always wanted a wicker set, so Scott got me this comfy set for our anniversary. It is just what our new porch needed. What a great place to sit and relax!

Here I am with my Aunt Jan and cousin Emily. This was the shower we went to a couple of weeks ago just outside NYC.

Hope you've been having a GREAT week! Nancy

Happy Birthday to Sweet Pea!

Today is Sweet Pea's 1st Birthday. What a blessing that little cat has been to us this year. She certainly helped Hannah while I was so sick and then gone to Pittsburgh. I am so glad Hannah found her.

We had a wonderful anniversary, went out for a lovely dinner then watched a movie, nothing grand, but still very special! Thank you for all the happy anniversary wishes.

Can you believe today is July already? Less than two weeks until we go to Ocean City, I can't wait!!!!

All my love to you! Nancy
