You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Medical Update

Hello!

It has been a rough day, I am really not feeling very well. I got up at 9:30, did my treatments and ate a little breakfast, then went back to bed at 10:30 and stayed there until 5:45. Luckily, they are going to put me back on IV antibiotics, so I should receive the new supplies tomorrow and hopefully start to feel a little better. Hannah is also sick, so I am trying to keep my distance, as difficult as that is.

On a positive note, Jasper and Sweet Pea have finally decided to like each other, hooray! They are so cute sleeping and playing together!

Hi Nancy!

I am glad that you will be able to start on antibiotics again. It seems like those help you out and make you feel a little better. I also hope Hannah feels better soon too. Aren't those back to school germs fun to deal with?! We are keeping you close in our hearts and prayers. We love you!

Love,

Debbie

Ohmigosh! Sweetpea looks adorable! Are they not the most fun ever??? Glad to hear you are going back on antibiotics. I know that they are not fun, but a little boost will be good. I am sooo glad that your little body is a hanging in there tho! WOOHOO! Go girl!

Ike was a whopper huh? So sad to see yer big tree down. My mom is down in Houston and still without power, water, gas, and she said trees and debris are everywhere.

Prayers to you my friend!

Nancy,

I hope and pray this message finds you feeling better. It never fails this time of year...both my kids are coughing also! I pray those new antibiotics kick in fast, and get you back on those feet! Tell Hannag to get better! Nothing like sitting in school with a cold all day!
My friend you are in my thoughts and prayers! I hope you know just how truly special you are! I hope you know Nance, that you are an inspiration to all!
Lots of love and prayers your way!

Hi Nancy,
I hope the antibiotics help you feel much better. I also hope Hannah has a quick recovery too, so you can enjoy one another. We are all on antiboitics here too. The girls both have ear infections and I am hoping the medicine works it's magic for them soon too. Hopefully they kick in for you quickly so you can enjoy more of your day and this beautiful time of year. Take care today and we are thinking of you often and praying every day for your new lungs.

Lots of love and hugs,
Amy
