You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

Hannah's First Communion

We were finally able to celebrate Hannah's First Communion today. We had originally planned it for Mother's Day, but our move to Pittsburgh forced us to cancel. We have waited all summer, hoping we could do it after my transplant, but decided we needed to do it now. I want to say a special thank you to Father Greg and Sister Regina who helped us put this together on such short notice. I also want to thank the Rowe family for waiting so that Hannah and Alexis could make their First Communion together. Fr. Greg brought along the choir from St. Mary's, which we so appreciated. It truly was a celebration and I am so grateful that I could be there!

Here are some pictures from this wonderful day!

Father had the children ring the bell before mass began.

Hannah was just glowing!

Celebrating her first Eucharist at the altar with Fr. Greg.

My mom had the honor of actually giving Hannah her first Communion, that was VERY special!

Wow! Hannah is so stunning in those pictures! Thank you for sharing and a BIG congratulations to Hannah. What a special day for you all and one that I am sure you will treasure for a long time. I think it is just so wonderful how a small community will come together for such a wonderful family and help them celebrate a very important step in life. My favorite picture is the last one with Hannah holding the flowers without her glasses on. She is absolutely beautiful and looks so proud. I know you are! Our love to you all! May God continue to watch over you and He will bring those lungs to you soon!

Love you all,

Debbie and Family

I agree totally with what Debbie said. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I am soooo glad that you got to do this and sooo glad that it all came together so beautifully. What a beautiful family you have. I have been checking back all weekend, just knowing that I was going to see a post that said you were signing off cause those lungs had just landed. But I have not lost faith and I KNOW you havent either. You are simply gorgeous Nancy. --enjoy your little family. B
