Update from Dr. Pilewski

Hello!

I received an e-mail from my doctor today, and I promised I would share:

There was a 50% narrowing of one of the segments (branches) of the right lung. Dr. Johnson thought that you should have a balloon dilatation of this (basically another bronchoscopy with anesthesia to put you a bit more asleep). We can arrange this for when it's convenient. This is a common problem that usually resolves after the airway is opened towards normal.

The biopsy was negative for rejection. Cultures are negative so far. This is good!

We'll be in touch to find a date for you to return, sometime in the next month.

I feel better having heard from him, it doesn't sound like this will be any big deal to resolve.

I don't want to scare any of you who are planning to get the H1N1 vaccine, because I think it is very important, but I am feeling awful today. I don't normally have reactions to the flu vaccine, but I think that is what this is. I am exhausted and very nauseated, both possible side effects. Please pray that is all this is!

It is snowing right now, HUGE flakes, it is mesmerizing and relaxing, just what I need today when I'm feeling so punky.

My love to you all! Nancy

Very interesting. Thanks for updating! Let us know when you will have the procedure (bronch)! I will definitely be praying for you in the meantime as well! Hoping you are getting your energy and strength back too!

The flu shots (seasonal ones) always make me feel bad the day of and the day afterward. I usually run a slight fever, very nauseated and my body aches really bad. It basically feels like you have the flu, but you don't. I think it is pretty common to feel like that. Maybe this H1N1 vaccine made you react a little differently? Praying you feel MUCH better soon! I know you will!

It's hard to hear when something isn't quite right. I know I always worry over every little thing. It sounds like they can get you all fixed up. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Stay strong!

As for the H1N1 vaccine. . . I got it about a week ago and I have felt a little off all week. I never really thought to put two and two together, but I am more tired than usual and slight body aches, no fever or shortness of breathe, so I think it could be my body adjusting to the vaccine. It's a thought and it explains my lack of supercharged energy level :) Love Ya and know I check on ya daily!

What a relief that it sounds like something that can be fixed without major intervention. I'm sorry that you have to deal with it at all, though!

That's a little scary about the H1N1 vaccine. It makes me a little nervous to get it. I guess slight fluish feelings are better than the full-on flu but it's still nerve-wracking. I hope you are feeling better soon!

GREAT NEWS that there is no rejection or infection.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
