You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

Deck-orating

There is nothing quite like the beginning of summer when the weather is finally nice,
the sun is shining, and you can move outdoors once again.
I have been enjoying preparing our outdoor living spaces and wanted to share my outdoor summer paradise with all of you.

Isn't it amazing when you find one item that sets the stage for all of your decorating?
Hannah discovered this lizard at JoAnne Fabrics and when I saw it, my creative juices started flowing!

JoAnne's is next to the Dollar Store, so feeling very tropical, we took a look there for some ideas.
I found these great hats and thought, by adding flower leis to them, I could have a nice deck accent.
So, for $2.00 a piece, I had fun decorations for the deck posts.

We also found some fun wooden flip flops to hang in between the hats.

We had to take a break to enjoy the day (and my new Margarita glasses)!

I then added plants and two feeders, one for the birds, and one for the hummingbirds.
In the past I have always put up hanging baskets, but they are expensive and require lots of maintenance.
The flowered hats require no maintenance and yet give us some color.

So, Ta Da, I have a wonderful tropical paradise!

Isn't summer fun?
