You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

I'd Like to Introduce You to An Amazing Young Woman

This is Dana Brandi, the cousin of a very good friend of mine.

Dana has been nominated as one of "Pittsburgh's 50 Finest"-this is for young professionals working and living in Pittsburgh, PA who are also involved in their community. 50 people are chosen throughout Pittsburgh, and the winner is determined by not only the amount of money raised in her/his name, but also by their continuing commitment to community service.

Dana volunteers and is active with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Pittsburgh. Here is her link as part of the CFF website:

http://www.cff.org/LWC/dsp_DonationPage.cfm?idEvent=13321&idUser=356225.

If you would like to make a donation to the CF Foundation in her name, it will not only help her, but also help to find a cure and continue research that is currently being done in Pittsburgh regarding CF.

Here is a statement made by Dana from her CFF page:

I will be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in my community. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help the Foundation realize its mission of controlling and curing cystic fibrosis (CF).

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now-more than ever-to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.

When the Foundation began in 1955, most children with CF did not live to see their first day of elementary school. Today, the median life expectancy for people with CF is almost 37. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. To learn more about CF and the CF Foundation, visit www.cff.org.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation, it means a lot!

Best Regards,

Dana Brandi

Please consider supporting the CF Foundation through Dana's site, I would really appreciate it!  It is wonderful to see young professionals working to help their communities and we need to thank and support them!

For those of you who live in the Pittsburgh area, if you are interested in finding out about volunteering with the CF Foundation, you can contact Ms. Mary Pat Joseph via e-mail: west-pa@cff.org or via telephone at 412-321-4422.

Thank you all so much!  Nancy
