You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

Long Day!

Well, we left the apartment at 7:00 a.m. and just got home at 6:00, I am so tired! All of my appointments went well and I am scheduled to get my feeding tube replaced with a button on February 9.

In between appointments we took Cammi's mom Judy out to Eat N Park and had brunch. They are such a lovely family and I enjoyed getting to spend some time with Judy. When we returned her home, I was able to peak in and say hello to Cammi. She needs her lungs, please keep her in your prayers!

Tomorrow I see an Endocrinologist to hopefully get set up for an insulin pump.

Sweet Pea is still missing, I am a wreck, I hope she comes home soon!

Wow Nancy!

What a busy day you had! Sounds like things continue to go well for you! That is wonderful news.

I am so glad you got to spend some time with Cammi's mom. I know how desperately you and Cammi would like to spend time together. I know that day will come--in His time. I will keep praying for Cammi and that God will bless her with new lungs soon. She seems like a wonderful person with a beautiful family. You two were meant to meet each other!

Take good care and get some much needed rest. We will say some extra prayers for Sweet Pea and that she returns home safely.

All my love,

Debbie

Thanks for our fun brunch today. I love spending time with you and your parents. You have truly become like family to us. You are such an inspiration to us. We are looking forward to being able to spend more quality time with you after Cammi has her transplant. It was exciting for you to be able to at least talk to each other today for a few minutes.
The kids loved the cookies and Cammi will think of you whenever she uses the mug. I love my beautiful card. Reilly said it was the most beautiful card she had ever seen.
We hope Sweet Pea comes home soon. Poor Hannah - tell her we are thinking of her and will pray for Sweet Pea's safe return home.
Thanks again for a fun day!

WOW! What a great way to spend your day. First of all...MANY MANY MANY prayers going up for Sweet Pea, OMG, if something happened to one of my babies I think Id have a stroke. Praying she is just cuddled up somewhere...or that someone has rescued her from the cold. Next, of course I am praying for Cammi. Can you link me up with her site again?? I will add her to my blog! And lastly...the insulin pump is AWESOME!!! Heather has had hers for ummm....about 4 years and I dont EVER want to go back. She now has the Ping from Animas that has the meter that talks to the Pump, its the whackiest thing ever. But ohhh it is awesome! Now if they could just come up with one that would test your sugars and give you insulin all in one thing THAT would be cool.

Hang in there girlfriend! You are soooo awesome and it is a true honor to be called your friend!

And I missed all the fun. Of all the nerve. Looks like you all had a great time.

Nancy, you look fantastic! What a miracle. To see your photos now, one would never know what you have endured forever and now you are well on the road to a healthy life. Your experience has been very helpful to Cammi and to all of us.

Hope Hannah finds Sweet Pea soon. It's awful when you lose a pet for any length of time. I'm sure she will come back.

I can't stand all this nice weather in California any longer so I will be returning to Pittsburgh sometime this week. I would love to meet you and perhaps Judy and I could go to dinner or lunch with you and your folks sometime soon.

Take good care of yourself and have a good time on your visit home...Dennis

Oh no, Sweet Pea! Reilly is so stressed about it! She is going to start praying right away. Poor Hannah!

My mom had SO MUCH fun today! Thank you for taking her out on the town. I love that she was able to get out and have a good time. Especially since it is her birthday week!

It was great to see you for a quick minute. YOU LOOK AWESOME! It is amazing to me and I just love to see your HEALTHY face! You are inpsiring me each day!

Your friends are just so kind to keep me in their prayers. I have felt so much peace since we arrived in Pittsburgh and I'm certain it's from the prayers of loved ones - and even strangers - who are just pulling for me each day.

You must be exhausted after almost 12 hours on the go today! I hope you took a pain pill and hopped into bed!

Good luck with endocrinolgy. Everyone who has the pump says they can't imagine life without it!

Lots of love to you all!
Cammi
