You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

Hello friends!

I have heard from so many of you in the last few days, thank you, I really needed that! I have been very down. It is difficult to be sick for so long and there are days it feels like my call for new lungs may never come. But, knowing I have so many good friends who love me, helps to bring my spirits up.

My dad flew in last night to be here to celebrate my Birthday. It is so nice to have him back, we have missed him! I know Hannah is looking forward to seeing him when she gets home from school today.

It is hard to believe I will be 34 on Tuesday. Last year at this time, I wasn't sure if I would be here for this Birthday. I feel blessed to have been given 34 wonderful years! When I was diagnosed with CF the average life expectancy was 18, boy have we come a long way!

I wanted to have a big birthday party to celebrate my life, but my family talked me out of it. It would be too much for me at this time and really was wishful thinking on my part. But, I promise, when I come home with new lungs, we will have the biggest party EVER! I have so much to look forward to!

In preparation for my Birthday, I have been looking at old photos, and thought I would share some with you. So, here is the first, it is hard to believe I was ever that small!

Love to you all! Nancy

Hello My Forever Friend!

I LOVE that picture of you! It is so adorable! I can only imagine the mental battles you have to face on a daily basis as well as all your physical battles. It is o.k. Nancy to have weak moments and you have to let it all out with a good cry or however you choose to deal with it. You are facing a huge battle ahead of you, but with your positive spirit in tow, there is nothing that you can't accomplish. I wish you some good days ahead. Enjoy having your dad back and enjoy all this precious time with your family. Wish I was there to help you celebrate your birthday. I love you Nancy Ann!

Love,

Debbie

Oh you are sooo sweet!! Carson just said, "Her pretty!". I couldn't have said it better myself! I absolutely love the yarn bows, they bring back so many memories. I think we had every color yarn known to man when I was little too. I hope you are feeling a bit better today. We continue to think of you and pray daily for your new lungs. Hang in there, it will happen and it will be the best party ever! Have a wonderful birthday! It really is amazing how far medicine has come and continues to go. You are amazing! Here is to a wonderful 34 years. I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to know you for so many of them.

Lots of love and hugs!
Amy
