I am so sorry to have to report that at 2:00 a.m. this morning, we found out the lungs of the donor were not going to work for me. Though we were all extremely disappointed, we do want my new lungs to be as healthy as they can be. We were discharged from the hospital at 3:30 a.m. and since I didn't have an oxygen system we decided to drive home.
We are very tired. We arrived home at 8:00 and went right to bed.
I will tell you more later, but I wanted to let you know that I did not have surgery last night. Thank you for your prayers, everything went perfectly for this "trial run" and we will be better prepared the next time. Love, Nancy
Welcome friends and family!
Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!
It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

Nancy,
It meant the world to me that you called me yesterday from Pittsburgh. I only wish that the donor lungs would of been perfect and healthy for you. Don't let this bump bring you down and keep you from climbing that mountain for your new lungs! Your time is coming and God is watching over you and keeping you safe. Get some much needed rest and know that you are surrounded by love and loved by so many. Keep your chin up! I love you so much.
Love,
Debbie
Much, much love from our family. We're sorry it was a "dry run" but happy to know you really are FIRST on the list! Stay strong for that next call! Best wishes!!
Dear Nancy,
As I was praying for you this morning after receiving the news from Debbie that the lungs were not a match, this verse came to mind. I hope it brings you comfort and you experience God's love in a very real way.
Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is with you,
He is Mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."
We'll keep praying for you- hang in there!
Love,
Jennifer
My friend,

Dear Nancy,
So sorry it didn't work out. You definately want the best lungs for you. You will be very ready the next time they call. Take care and get some good rest. We continue to pray for your new lungs and for you and your family.
Lots of love and hugs,
Amy
Oh Nance,
I'm so sorry... I know you must be so exhausted and disappointed. I was with you through the night in prayer; I hope you could feel the comfort of God's grace with you. I know He sent angels to be by your side. As I prayed for you throughout the night and day, God gave me a lyrics and a melody for a new song. It's called "Nancy's Song." I'll sing it for you sometime soon. I love you, my friend.
Hope you could feel the love and prayers coming to you from Our Lady of the Mountains this weekend!
We send our continued love and prayers to you and all of your family.
Love you,,
Dick and Judy
Well you know that I am right there with you in prayer. I am soooo saddened that your donor was not a perfect match, but I gotta say THANK YOU JESUS for those doctors that didnt jump the gun just to MAKE something work, when truthfully it MIGHT not have. I pray that your PERFECT set of lungs come soon. I pray for your peace and rest. Hang in there and DO NOT give up hope. Remember... can do ALL things through Christ, He who strengthens me Youre still amazing! And I cant help but know what an amazing family you have too. All of you must keep your chin up...Cause Gods right there with ya...all the way!!! Be blessed Matthews/Carruth family---
Nancy,
I am sorry to hear of the dispointment, but as you say, everything must be perfect. It wasnt meant to be. Let's all pray for the family of the donor as well, as they are being tested as well.
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and hope that call does come again soon for you. Rest and take care or yourself.
Susan
