You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

All 6 tubes have been removed!

I am so thrilled to report that the surgeons removed my last set of tubes a few minutes ago. I am cautiously hopeful this will mean some pain relief. It feels nice not to be hooked up by my chest anymore.

I had another rough night, but hopefully tonight will be better. I have already gone for 3 walks today and it gets easier with each step I take.

I am very tired, so need to take a nap, but wanted to share this recent wonderful development!

Love to you all! Nancy

I am so happy for you Nancy!! What a relief it must be to have those tubes out. I get so excited each time I read the blog--so many improvments. I hope the pain subsides and you can get some rest. It looks as though Uncle Vance needs some rest too. Please give your mom and dad our love. We are so proud you Nancy--you are amazing. Get some rest!

AMAZING NEWS! I am SO HAPPY you are free of those darn tubes! And THREE walks today?! You are AMAZING! I am so happy for you. Keep it up! I can't wait for you to be able to snuggle back into your own bed at the apartment - I think you will feel LOTS better! Your room decorations look cute - especially your HANNAH table. I'm sure that gives your the WILL to keep pushing - even when it hurts! We love you and are just so darn HAPPY for you! Try to get lots of rest and don't feel pressure to write us all back or post often (although we LOVE it and check constantly for updates!)- we know you are working HARD to get stronger each day!
love, cammi

As I am reading these wonderful comments you'll all be happy to know that Nancy is sleeping soundly as I write this, I haven't seen her sleep this well since she got out of surgery, so the removal of the last of the tubes must be making a difference in the level of pain she normally has had when she tries to sleep! Hopefully this is a positive sign that she's beyond the worst of the pain filled sleepless nights!

Such great news........and we pray for less pain and more rest too. After church we went to Spragues and we saw Miss. Hannah! with who I think is Scotts mom.....we did see Scott from a distance. She is walking on "sunshine"...and Scott had the same look too! Even though snow is filling our upcoming eve. Thought of going over and introducing the Jacksons to him, sharing with him the Joy we have been feeling this Christmas...because of this blessing.. but some day we will..........and you too. Goodnight Nancy..........

Way to Go Nancy!!! We are thrilled you are doing so well and are finally "tubeless." Hope the night is pain free with all the future nights following suit. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. You have been so blessed and I don't know anyone more deserving of such a wonderful GIFT of LIFE! Without a doubt, you are making the very most of your chance for a full recovery. Your determination and commitment to regaining strength and the ability to return to a "normal" life is an inspiration to all of us. Soooo good to see your Mom. I had never realized how much you look like her. How fortunate that both your parents have been able to be with you during this time. So much to be thankful for at this special time of the year. Lots of love,
