You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

SURGERY UPDATE 2

As of a few minutes ago, the first lung has been surgically attached!!  Scott and his sister Leslie arrived  a short time ago to find me sound asleep in a chair, but Ann was awake to greet them!  It is good to have the four of us together to share in these final hours of this incredible journey to Nancy's new lungs.  And I am so very proud to be able to keep all you good friends and family informed by the miracle of the Internet.  I know Nancy would want me to acknowledge her donor's family's loss and I know we will always be forever grateful to her family and her for their willingness to donate this greatest of all gifts to our beloved Nancy!  How I wish it were possible to offer our sympathy and our prayers and hopes for the grace and peace of healing to them personally.  We wish for them the kind of love and support we have experienced from Nancy's many friends and family members.

Nancy's Dad,
Vance

Wonderful news!!!!! We hope the second lung is attached without any hitches. So glad to hear Scott and Leslie made it safe and sound!

We are also praying for the donor and her family. My hope is that she is at peace and can watch over Nancy as her angel in heaven.

Lots of prayers and good wishes being sent your way.

Love you all!

I am so thrilled for you and your family! I remember your family so fondly and loved Ann, as she was one of my most favorite teachers! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and with the donor family!

Thank you so much for the updates- we continue to keep Nancy in our prayers as we think about her throughout the day! We will remember the donor's family too- such a wonderful gift to give and one of the greatest things that can come from a life that is sadly lost.
We'll keep checking back. The Internet is so wonderful for this!
Blessings,
Jennifer

Vance,

Thanks for your updates despite your worry and fatigue.

Even though I have never met Nancy and just know her and all the rest of the family through the blog, this is the happiest day I have had in I don't know how long.

What a miracle.

The journey is now uphill and what a great day when the top is reached.

Thanks again for your updates. Sure a great number of people were checking in all day.

Would be a really nice story for the Times Herald in a couple of weeks when she has had some time to bounce back a little.

It's a long journey, but this step was the big one.
