You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

We're Here

Hello friends! We are here in Pittsburgh and getting settled in our new "home". Hannah and Scott just left, so my heart feels like it is breaking, but I know this is what must be and I will be okay. Christmas isn't that far away.

I wanted to share some initial pictures so you can get an idea of where we will be living for the next few months.

My bedroom with a lovely model!

The living room.

Our little tree, Hannah did a great job decorating!

I was pretty tired after the trip and starting to settle in.

So I took a little nap while Mom and Dad did some shopping and picked up dinner.
I enjoyed my new blanket that my friends Haley and Kolby made for me!

Our first dinner in our new place, nothing like Chinese!

Granddaddy couldn't fit at the table.

My best little family, I am going to miss you both so much!
Safe travels home and know I am with you in your hearts!

My love to you all! Nancy

I pray every night for your Christmas wish... I will be in pittsburgh January 17th! Hopefully by then I can come see you on recovery! Merry Christmas! I remember how hard it was to be away from my family, the Lord gives us strenghth when we run out.....I ran out a lot! I am sorry you are so sick-I know exactly how terrifying it can be. The one song that gave me strength was Josh Groban's "you are loved" I listened to it every day esspecially the days I didn't think I could go one more day.

Nancy,

Your place looks great! I am glad that you are settled in for the most part. Hang in there and focus on your goal ahead. As hard as it will be fro you to be away from Scott and Hannah, the end result will all make it worthwhile. Hold strong to your faith and know that God has GREAT plans for you in the years to come. I love you Nancy and I wish you much happiness in your "new home."

I love you,

Debbie

Hi Nancy,
I'm so glad that you guys made it and settled in safely. I'm sure it was so hard for all of you when they left and I am sure they are missing you just as much as you are missing them. May the thoughts of their next visit comfort you. I'm sure that Hannah's cell phone will be used tons. Now you are all ready for your new lungs, wouldn't that be the greatest Christmas present of all!

Lots of love and hugs,
Amy

Nancy,
I've been checking your blog all day to see if you were all settled in safely! I was worried about you traveling after it started snowing yesterday morning. I'm so glad you arrived safely. Please let us know if you need anything. Our thoughts are with you today as you've said a temporary goodbye to Scott and Hannah until Christmas vacation. Those days are never easy. I hope you are resting well and recovering from the busy weekend. Much love to you!
