You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

DAY TWO POST SURGERY

I slept like a log on a couch here in the waiting room and just awoke and called to see how Nancy is doing this morning.  I was told she is alert this morning and that they were about to have her sit up.  They will not be removing the ventilator today, and have given her some medication for some pain she is experiencing.  I asked if she could understand him and he said yes, so I told him to tell her we are all thrilled that she is doing so well and that we love her and will see her at 10:30 when visiting hours begin.  He said he would relay the message.  Now I can go get some coffee and have some breakfast.  "Happy Days Are Here Again!"  And Nancy's journey continues.

I am so glad that you got a restful night and I can't wait to hear more updates. Please, please give Nancy's hand a squeeze for me and tell her that I am with her there in spirit. We love you all and are so thankful that this journey to get new lungs has started!

Have a great day and enjoy this miraculous time!

I am sooooo glad you all had a great night. And that SHE is doing so well. I also wanted to thank you for "telling" us that you were signing off last night. I sat here at the computer refreshing the page for most of the day. Waiting on pins and needles for the latest updates. It was only when you said you wouldnt post again was I able to shut down my own computer and accomplish something. Though, I was still deep in prayer and thought for you all. I will once again be awaiting updates today. I am sooooo grateful for you! Blessings to all of you. Cant help but smile!!

I looked at my clock and it's 7:40am here in California, which means you're probably with Nancy right now. Amazing she'll be sitting up today!
Congratulations to all of you for getting through surgery day with shining colors- keep smiling! Prayers continue for a strong recovery for Nancy.
Blessings,
Jennifer

We are so relieved to hear the good news! Taylor and I were just talking about Nancy on Sunday and hoped that her lungs would be coming soon. Little did we know how soon! Taylor will be so thrilled when I tell her tonight. She has been worried because she has not seen Hannah at school. Please give Nancy a hand squeeze for us and know that you all remain in our thoughts and prayers.
