You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

ONE WEEK AGO TODAY WE WERE ALL ON PINS WAITING FOR THE DECISION ABOUT NANCY'S NEW LUNGS! WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES!

Thank you for the emails concerning how to order Nancy's new book and the desire to help to make Nancy's Christmas Wish come true.  Just to clarify, for every book that is ordered and given away to a needy person, Nancy will be able to purchase a book to give to someone she finds who is in need of one...she wrote this new book specifically to be able to "Pay It Forward"...to help others who are less fortunate than she has been, and to share her many experiences, and share what she has learned about how to make their journey as easy as is humanly possible.  She was so excited when this idea came to her one night that she had to get up out of bed and begin to work on it right away so she could complete it before she faced possibly losing her own battle.  She was on a mission.  It was just that important to her to do this for others beginning their own journey down what is a very difficult road.  That's just who our Nancy is!

I apologize for not posting more often yesterday, especially.  After Nancy took her first walk in early afternoon she had another episode of severe pain that required more morphine shots...somehow there had been a misunderstanding regarding when she was to get her pain medication and too much time had elapsed, once the pain starts, there is no stopping it immediately, so it turned into a long afternoon and evening of trying to get a management plan in place so that this will not continue to happen.  After several of these episodes we think her doctor and the "team" at the hospital have gotten her back on track, but the afternoon and early evening took its toll on her and she will need to recover from this particularly painful experience.

When we left her last night, she was in less pain and settling in for what we hoped would be a better night and today we look forward to a much better day with at least two steps forward for every one step back!

Keep the positive thoughts and prayers coming and don't hesitate to contact me by email or telephone (cell: 307-690-0175) if you have any questions or need help getting a book or books ordered from Create Space.  I'll do my best to help if I can.

I've had several request for more frequent post as I am told many of you are checking the blog frequently for updates and waiting for news.  That is wonderful to hear and I will try.

Love,

Nancy's Dad

Vance,

We appreciate your efforts and all you do to keep us informed. I feel so blessed to know how Nancy is truly doing! We know you are busy and not just sitting around for the next update from the doctors! Keep up the great work.

I hope Nancy had a restful night and that she was able to find a good balance with her pain medication.

You are right in saying, "What a difference a week makes." I am still blown away by her progress and everything that has happened. It truly is a miracle and we are so happy for Nancy, Scott, Hannah and you both that this happened.

I sent Nancy a package to the apartment so please be on the lookout for that!

I hope you have a GREAT day. Please give Nancy a HUGE hug for me and tell her that I love her so much and am so proud of her!

With love and appreciation,

Debbie and Family

Debbie,

The package for Nancy did come and she LOVED the beautiful Angel...from one angel to another, the two of you should have been sisters, you are both that close. Believe me when I say Nancy knows how much you love and pray for her every step of the way and I also know how very much your love means to her! And the journey continues!

Love
