You've Been Given the Gift of Life, Give it Back!

Welcome friends and family!

Thank you for visiting my blog. It documents my amazing journey from pre to post double lung transplant. I am a 37 year old mother and wife with Cystic Fibrosis who has been more greatly blessed than I could ever imagine possible!

It has been a bumpy ride, but God has given me strength, love, friendship, and, FINALLY, health. My prayers have been answered, my miracle was granted, and I want to share the joy of my new life with you.

If you are a first time visitor, please take a moment to watch The Miracle of Transplantation video below. To me, pictures speak a thousand words.

My entries begin in April of 2008 and my double lung transplant was December 10. Scroll down to my blog archive and you can read from the beginning or jump around. If you are looking for a specific topic, you can use the search engine.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!

I hope I can help you to experience the love God has for each and every one of us!

May God Bless You with Miracles in Your Life! Nancy

A NIGHT FOR REST AND SLEEP AND QUIET

Nancy slept on and off most of the day today between various treatments.   She was uncomfortable in bed early in the evening so we got her up so she could sit in the chair you saw in the photograph.  She asked her mother to read to her since she is still experiencing some blurred vision and is still experiencing some pain in her back.  The doctors say that once the tubes come out from the chest cavity she is going to feel tons better, so we are hoping this will happen as soon as humanly possible.  She sat with her eyes closed while Ann read to her for over an hour and then it was time for more treatments and time for her to return to bed and for us to leave for the night.  We got her all settled in, turned out the lights,  and closed the door behind us hoping that she would have a quiet, peaceful, and relatively interruption free night of rest and sleep.  There is no question but that she is exhausted...five days of constant pain and little sleep with almost continuous prodding and poking has taken its toll on her.  But, the good news is that she is making wonderful progress and all functions are normal by almost any measure you might want to use.

May she get a healthy dose of sleep tonight, more tomorrow and the next day, and the day after that.   Gradually she'll mend and have more stamina and energy to deal with the treatments that lie ahead for her.  We'll look forward to seeing her again tomorrow morning and will get an update out to you then!  Sleep well, our dear friends, and know you are all loved by the Carruth, Delaney, Matthews, and Salvan families!
